Anyone Know Of A Movie 1980’s Or Sooner Aladdin Movie That Wasn’t Made By Disney?
When I was a kid, I used to fall asleep to this movie (VHS) all the time. It wasn’t a Disney movie. It was earlier times. I’m wanting to guess it was a 1980’s or even earlier cartoon movie about the story of Aladdin. I CANNOT find it anywhere. ANYWAY… from what I can remember of the movie… at the beginning he was sitting on a ledge eating an apple he just stolen… sees what I presume to be Jafar or equivalent with a black crow. Jafar talks him into getting the lamp. Jafar is riding a horse in the desert making Aladdin run. They get to the cave, he goes down, Jafar gives him a “lucky” ring just in case. Aladdin gets scared because of stone snakes that become alive after his lamp blows out… as he is quivering in fear he incidentally rubs his ring then a Red Genie comes out with a torch and turns the snakes back to stone. Genie goes away and he go through a big door and it leads to what seems to be outside, with peach trees (which are actually plastic fruit). He gets to a temple and he walks in, candles automatically ignite with thousands of lamps… he sees an especially old lamp with cob webs. He grabs that one, walks out the temple, walks out the big door and the door shuts, cant get out because Jafar locked him in and the big door wont open.. rubs the lamp, all is good, goes home with a bunch of food for his mom. That’s not the end but that’s a much as I can remember with the detail.
If anyone could help me find out how to get a hand on this movie that would be awesome.

I am having trouble finding this video myself. I had it on a Beta tape when I was younger but it has disappeared from my parents house since I have last watched it. I am unable to find it on YouTube or any screen shots of the video. What I remember about the video is when Aladdin was eating food he would beat his chest because the food would get stuck in his esophagus and I think there was a mouse with a very long tail. The Genie wasn’t very friendly in this version. The one thing I remember well was the tune to the song when Aladdin was running in the desert. I do remember the plastic fruit and that the movie was very dark and sorta scary to a little kid when I watched it. If it wasn’t for Disney having the market on this story then it might be easier to find. I have looked on Amazon and this movie might have been made by Japanese animation but I am not sure. If I find anything I will let you know.
