Why Elections Are Necessary. May It Not Possible To Elect Prime Minister Through Sms As Other National Program?
THERE SHOULD BE NOMINATION FOR THE PRIMEMINISTER AND PEOPLE OF INDIA CHOOSE BEST AMONG THEM. FOR EXAMPLE NARENDRA MODI, LAL KRISHAN ADVANI, SONIA GANDHI ETC. I THINK WE CAN GET AN IDEAL PM AFTER THAT.
In today’s India, this suggestion is far ahead of time. Currently, we have many serious issues(literacy, employment, infrastructure etc.) to deal with to reduce the poverty gap. Large fraction of the Indian population still struggles to make a decent living (Roti, Kapra and Makan). Therefore, in my opinion, it would be unfair to follow this suggestion, if implemented would only reflect opinion of a small fraction of Indian population.

you think these elections are game shows ? or are you too lazy to go to the election booth ? and , what about a single person having multiple sim cards ? ” one vote per person ” is not possible if we use SMS .
i agree that we do not elect the prime minister directly ( manmohan singh becoming PM was something which surprised everyone ) . but sms is not the solution .
It may be possible sometime in the (likely far) future, when SMS can be safe and secure, but it’s not possible now. Even electronic voting machines, that people use in person after showing ID, have a lot of problems now, so I think it’s a long way off before cell phones will be usable for that purpose.
Why go in for SMS why not toss up a coin instead?
