  1. Yes, their MBA programmes are approved by the Distance Education Council, New Delhi; which is the sole authority recognised by the Ministry of Human Resources Development, Govt. of India for granting approval for distance education courses.
You can check it out athttp://www.dec.ac.in/
Sikkim-Manipal University is an UGC approved university. And don’t let the Manipal tag in the university name put you off, Sikkim-Manipal University is actually a Government university, run by the Sikkim government in academic collaboration with the Manipal Group, famous for their strides in the field of education. So you can be sure that their degree is 100% legal. SMU’s Degrees/Diploma/Certificates are recognized by all members of Association of Indian Universities (AIU). But please ensure that you enroll only at an authorised Learning Centre of SMU for the MBA course, should you intend to enroll with SMU’s distance MBA programme.
The list of approved study centres of SMU can be found at http://dde.smuhmts.edu/findcentre.asp
